Outstanding short-term stability is especially important for digital modulation formats demanding very low BER for high data rate transmission systems. Our factory has particularly strong automated testing capability in measuring root-allan variance for this technology with various data profile settings.
In order to achieve less than ± 100 ppb stability the output type must be clipped sine to minimize over heating of the crystal. If a customer application requires a square wave, Dynamic Engineers will recommend a specific square wave chip family that the end user can add in series between their TCXO output and remaining application circuit.
Please note that the phase noise performance of the 5 x 7 mm device is 10 dB better at 1 KHz as the factory is able to incorporate additional filtering capacitance inside the package as well as utilize a higher Q resonator for the crystal design.
